OUR STORY

Inspiration Aviation Missions (IAM) was founded in 2012 to provide flight training and airplane mechanic (A&P)  training to teenagers interested in missionary aviation. Our goal is to use aviation training to build discipline and spiritual growth to serve humanity throughout the world.

This camp offers a week of flight training, ground school, and A&P mechanic training to the teens from FAA certified flight instructors and mechanics.  In the summer of  2021, IAM began working with Wings of Grace Ministries to expand the program.  This new partnership brings the opportunity for teenagers to participate in ground school and flight training throughout the year.

Located in the heart of central Maine, IAM utilizes access to a local grass landing strip as a training ground for students who will eventually be flying in remote locations around the globe.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our activities are geared toward promoting Christian character, fellowship, mentorship, faith, and encouragement.  IAM includes Bible study, prayer, and fellowship in all of our activities, and we also participate in local youth events.

FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM

High school and pre-college teenagers interested in Christian missionary work participate in flight training in a Piper Warrior PA28-161 airplane.  Interested ‘missionary-minded’ teenagers are offered affordable airplane rental and flight instructor opportunities to support them on their journey to the missionary field.

GROUND SCHOOL PROGRAM

IAM, along with Wings of Grace Ministries, provide ground school training. Classes are taught by certified flight instructors and will prepare the students to pass the FAA Private Pilot exams.

SUMMER AVIATION CAMP

In 2016, IAM began hosting annual weekly summer camps in Maine for teenagers. The focus is on flight training, ground school and A&P mechanic training  by FAA certified flight instructors and mechanics.

In 2021, IAM partnered with Wings of Grace of Melbourne Florida to expand outreach and conduct training throughout the year.

Our graduates are working as commercial pilots for major missionary organizations in Uganda, Indonesia and the Marshall Islands. Their testimonies in this website attest to the success of our training programs.

A&P AIRPLANE MECHANIC PROJECT

Involved teenagers will work on airplanes. IAM has a Challenger II light sport airplane. Students will learn A&P mechanic skills as they work on this airplane.  It serves as a teaching tool for teenagers interested in pursuing aircraft and powerplant certifications through ‘hands-on’ experiences.
