Michael Burbella

Michael Burbella is currently a commercial pilot working Southern Airways Express out of Hawaii/

He was born in Canada and his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended an IAM event at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) abd was quickly in the left seat of a Piper Warrior having his first flight lesson.

He just started high school and started to rack up hours of flight training. He attended IAM’s summer camp in Maine where he gained more exposure in ground school, simulator training and ‘hands-on’ experience building an experimental aircraft.

He graduated from the International ALERT Academy and passed his FAA Private Pilot check ride. IAM offered to assist him in obtaining his FAA Instrument Rating.  He volunteered for the IAM summer camp helping other teenagers.

​Michael returned to Florida to pursue his FAA Commercial Pilot’s License which he secured by age 20. Michael stated: “I am very grateful for the opportunities that both God and Aviation Inspiration Ministries provided me…. My involvement with IAM and their mission to train young pilots for mission work, has and continues to be very important to me, and I am excited to see what God has in store for me in the aviation field.”
